The people of Romulus are diverse, but nonetheless all share an unshakable love for their nation. The Romulan race is an offshoot of the more logical Vulcans. Some two thousand years ago, the Vulcan philosopher Surak advocated the suppression of emotion and the importance of total self-control. Those who did not agree with this viewpoint boldly launched themselves into space in search of a new homeworld where they could live out their lives with the freedom to embrace their passions. After decades of travel, those bold explorers eventually discovered Romulus and Remus, and evolved into the races and the empire known today.
