I'm a Lurian. Federation citizens in particular don't usually recognize my kind. Luria is a swampy world orbiting a star inside the Ionite Nebula, near the Romulan border. Our government is a constitutional monarchy headed by our royal family, the Gheljiar. Luria is resource poor, so many of us head to the stars to seek our better opportunities. Lurians are known for having very large families, sleeping in mud baths (to replicate our swamp-homes) and being loquacious (which is a polite way of saying we talk to much).

You may know one of my relatives, a former trader named Morn (pictured here with his friend Leeta). Though he doesn't really do anything these days, per se, he's become quite a fixture at Quark's Bar on the Starfleet station Deep Space Nine. He's got a lot of friends there who deeply respect him. Morn is my second half-cousin six times removed.
